Patrick Gauthier

Patrick is the Director of the AHP Healthcare Solutions and a Senior Advisor. Over the course of twenty years in the behavioral health field, he has held management positions in a variety of mental health and substance abuse treatment settings, served as Chief Operations Officer and Chief Marketing Officer for a national managed behavioral healthcare organization and EAP, and has consulted the country’s largest health and behavioral health systems. He is a frequent speaker at national conferences and trade shows and provides training to professional organizations of all kinds as it relates to managed care, insuring behavioral health and providing treatment in new business environments.
Mr. Gauthier’s experience in public behavioral healthcare includes the development of public/private performance-based partnerships relative to Medicaid provider networks, the Access to Recovery (ATR) Grant and the Substance Abuse Treatment Block Grant (SATBG). His deep operations background, expertise and effective presentation skills make him a dynamic speaker on topics that include: behavioral health business planning and management; information technology and data management; quality management; as well as social marketing. As an executive in the field over the course of the past fifteen years, he has honed his strategic planning, enterprise alignment, and performance management approach such that today his sights are set on the design and effective deployment of programs that properly align the resources and incentives of behavioral health payers, providers and consumers.
Kathryn Alexandrei
Ms. Alexandrei is Associate Director of the Healthcare Solutions division and a Senior Advisor. She offers over 15 years of experience in leadership positions in the nonprofit, behavioral health and social services sectors. Her core competencies include organizational development and transformation, professional project management, customer service, operations management and performance management. Her professional experience has encompassed all aspects of enterprise development, information technology implementation, establishing business systems, developing and articulating strategic goals and ensuring enterprise-wide tactical alignment. Her particular area of expertise is business process improvement where she is skilled in the identification, analysis, and resolution of the diverse operational issues that compromise efficiency, quality and growth goals. She offers particular expertise to start-up organizations and the unique challenges they face establishing operations and business practices.
During 12 years of executive-level experience, Ms. Alexandrei has focused on elevating organizational performance through skillful restructuring, business process improvement initiatives, and building highly motivated and properly trained and supervised teams. The change initiatives she has managed have been characterized both by rigorous adherence to organizational vision and mission as well as revenue enhancement and cost-savings through operational performance improvement. She increased revenues by 300% and increased the number of programs fourfold during her tenure as CEO of an international development organization dedicated to eradicating the commercial and sexual exploitation of children in Asia. In this role she worked closely with local grass-roots organizations in the design and implementation of culturally relevant education, healthcare and advocacy programs. Programs under her oversight targeted at-risk and child survivors of commercial and sexual exploitation. Specific interventions included non-formal education, primary education for former child laborers, mobile healthcare clinics, HIV/STD prevention, and crisis intervention and counseling for victims of rape and domestic violence. She was responsible for management of the program manager and field staff, establishing and managing contracts with local social service, health and behavioral healthcare providers and advocacy groups, and coordinating capacity-enhancing technical assistance and training for local partner organizations.
Her project experience in senior consultant roles includes project management, infrastructure development, business process documentation and redesign, health plan contract negotiations and relationship management, development of performance management systems, and behavioral health marketing and sales including market research and planning, website development and social media marketing.
Darrell Berman
Darrell leads AHP’s Healthcare Marketing area and is a Senior Advisor with more than 33 years’ experience in the communications field. His experience has ranged from television news anchorman and producer/director to founder and principle of two communications companies spanning twenty six years. In his career, he has managed new business development, account service, PR campaigns, production of media projects, and served as a communications consultant to organizations of all sizes. He was President and founding partner of Berkshire Marketing Group.
In the 1990’s, Darrell helped organize PR for one of the world’s first Eco-Tourism conferences, held in Maho Bay, St. John and then Costa Rica. His marketing communications and brand-building expertise has helped elevate Sullivan County’s Center for Discovery to one of the world’s most prestigious and securely funded service providers for people with disabilities and special needs.
His “Some Cuts Will Never Heal” state advocacy campaign helped restore millions of dollars in funding to New York’s hospitals. Darrell worked on a workforce initiative for the largest not for profit association dealing with disabilities, and he has extensive experience with grass root campaigns.
Those campaigns included an early childhood intervention initiative for CP of NYS as well as an advocacy campaign entitled Real People. Realizing Potential.
Darrell has guest lectured at the University of Albany, SUNY Oneonta as well as Sage Colleges, teaching Marketing and Advertising. He has served on several boards, including Rotary, Columbia County Humane Society, Olana, Executive Board for Habitat for Humanity, and Jazz for the Arts.
Adrian Bishop is a Senior Advisor leading AHP’s Health Information Technology and Change Management domains. He has worked as a management consultant for over 16 years. Prior to his career in consulting he held a variety of senior and executive management positions. As an advisor, his work has involved working at all levels within companies, from mentoring the Boards of Fortune 50 companies to training literally thousands of employees.
In recent years, Adrian has worked with a passion to transform the healthcare delivery system by utilizing the “cutting edge” techniques he learned and developed in the corporate sector. He has developed advanced business and quality management methodologies that have been benchmarked worldwide and have been widely published in articles and books. His specialties include:

Christina Collazo
Christina Collazo, is AHP’s Marketing Manager and leads Special Events Planning. She is a Project Manager with more than 13 years of health care marketing experience. A graduate of the University of North Carolina with a degree in Accounting, Chris provides the bottom-line focus and number-crunching expertise that enables us to achieve such a consistently high ROI for our clients. In addition to developing and overseeing budgets for clients,
Christina has become an expert in analyzing a broad spectrum of demographic and media data, creating highly cost-effective media plans, and negotiating favorable rates with media outlets, printers, and other vendors and suppliers. Her account service experience includes day-to- day management of market research projects, nurse and physician recruitment programs, service-line campaigns, and branding initiatives for a variety of health care organizations including Upstate Medical University, Leesburg Regional Medical Center — The Villages Regional Hospital (Leesburg, FL), Crystal Run Healthcare (Middletown & Rock Hill, NY), The Center for Discovery (Harris, NY), Bon Secours Charity Health System (Suffern, Warwick & Port Jervis, NY), and Bon Secours Baltimore Hospital (Baltimore, MD). A guest lecturer at Russell Sage College for Women, Chris has also provided financial and budget services for the Corporate Offices of the Capital Region YMCA.
Angela Halvorson
Angela Halvorson is a Senior Advisor working with AHP clients on a wide range of substance use disorders prevention, treatment and recovery support services, trauma-informed care, workforce development, and recovery-oriented systems of care. She has also provided expert consultation to non-profit organizations on strategic and communications/media planning. Over the course of more than 15 years in the behavioral health field, she has held various roles that have allowed her to gain a unique and varied perspective of the behavioral health field and the multiple vulnerable populations served by behavioral health providers. This perspective informs her ability to provide comprehensive analyses and recommendations that address the needs of providers, consumers, and stakeholders. Ms. Halvorson is an 18-year veteran of the Army, an Iraq war veteran, and an active Army spouse who has used her extensive personal and professional experience with the military to provide technical assistance and training to state and Federal agencies, including SAMHSA, communities, providers and employers working with service members, veterans and their families. Her consulting background over the past five years includes roles as a senior advisor, senior consultant, and project director/manager. Her specific expertise includes behavioral health policy, system design, and military/veterans issues.
